2004 Accomplishments
Micro Enterprise Training
44 participants received entrepreneurial training
12 women took sewing and cooking classes to create businesses
1 handicapped young man who is a talented artist received a set of drawing materials enabling him to draw and sell pencil sketches.
Business skill classes taught self reliance in the business field
Micro Lending
10 received entrepreneurial coaching and US$7,350 in micro-loans to start a small business
12 received US$7,325 in micro-loans and mentoring to strengthen their existing micro-enterprises.
Housing Construction
New roofs and bathrooms were installed in the homes of 6 families, directly benefiting 30 individuals.
2 new houses were built benefiting 10 individuals.
Education/Libraries
More than 1,000 books were donated to 2 public libraries and 3 school libraries in Chiclayo
300 books were added to the library in Salkantay
119 children received school packages
1 faithful handicapped single adult received a Micro-scholarship to finish his high school studies. He graduated from high school in December 2004.
Health Projects
The emergency area of the Sullana hospital, which serves more than 1,000,000 people, was totally restored and renewed. Medical supplies and equipment valued in $10,000 were donated by Globus Relief through Eagle Condor expedition participants.
408 adults and children received first class dental care with over 2,000 teeth repaired.
35 family bathrooms were constructed in Salkantay
8 baby kits were delivered to young parents.
105 hygiene kits were delivered to children who attend an elementary public school.
29 families received new and slightly used clothes.
One orphanage received food and supplies, enough for one month of operation
40 orphans in Anta received special packages
2 new wells were drilled and began operation, benefiting more than 200 people in a rural area near Monsefu, Chiclayo.
Eagle Scout Projects.
11 young men received clothes and other supplies necessary to start full-time missionary service.
204 children living in shanty towns and rural areas received Christmas bags on December 24, 2004 sewn and filled by US volunteers.
