Ryan Nelson helps the Missionaries
Ryan Nelson from Murray, UT sent suitcases full of dress clothes for the missionaries to Peru with the July 2004 Expedition for his Eagle Scout Project. The suitcases were carried down by the expeditioners with clothes in them, then left so the missionaries would have something to carry their belongings in while on their missions. Many do not have the clothes they need for church and in addition, many leave with their belongings in plastic bags as they go into the mission field.
Oswaldo Tello, Andes Eagle Condor Director told the following story, "Brother David Morante,like many other young men, has no employment opportunities in Ferrenafe, where he and his family live. He went to Lima to work in a relative's car shop to make some money for his missionary fund. Just when he was going to the bus station to return to his home, he was mugged, and the thieves robbed him of all his money. During the whole trip home, he was very sad, and asked the Lord for help. Two weeks before the date of his missionary departure, he was invited to visit the Eagle Condor Humanitarian office in Chiclayo where he received clothes and other supplies needed during his missionary service at the Peru Lima Central Mission. He entered the Lima Missionary Training Center on Thursday, September 9, 2004. Other young men who have received their missionary callings are being supported with clothes, suitcases and other supplies donated by U.S. families and collected or gathered by enthusiastic Eagle Condor Humanitarians."
